WHO?
Handsome Chin is a fledgling theatre group based in Edinburgh, which, after three sell-out Edinburgh Fringe shows, is looking to diversify their portfolio.
THE BRIEF
For their 2007 sell-out Fringe show ‘The Butler Did It!?’, Handsome Chin were looking for new avenues to promote their performances beyond word-of-mouth alone.
They wanted a bold online presence which wouldn’t be out of place with their other colourful marketing, and needed to be able to update the site to amend ticketing and venue information, and add press reviews as they became available.
WHAT I DID
With an existing SimpleCMS installation in place, I designed bold templates which drew on the show’s colour scheme. Handsome Chin supplied all the content, including synopses, bios and headshots which were all slotted into a consistent looking website.
The site acted as a useful central point for information to satisfy the interest of those who had heard about the show by word-of-mouth.
I was asked to develop Handsome Chin’s website again in 2008 to update the look and content for the new show, and I have been recommissioned to develop an entirely new site this summer to reflect the wider range of Handsome Chin’s work.
